Pat Nason
Los Angeles, CA
“Call it "relaxed-fit" Americana, Pat’s personal blend, informed and inspired by the music he heard growing up in Baltimore: rock ‘n roll, rockabilly, country, swing, folk, pop, Tin Pan Alley, showtunes, jazz, comedy - a lot of different kinds of music. “Mostly, I write old-fashioned, romantic love songs,” Pat says. “Some of the songs are about other stuff. Everyday things, the silly, the sad, whatever goes into making us human. But mostly it's love - the joy of finding it, the pain of losing it, the thrill of a new flame, the contentment of a lasting romance.” Baltimore-born, Los Angeles-based, Pat has been writing and performing for decades, while raising a family and working as a professional journalist. Following his retirement as entertainment reporter and editor for United Press International, Pat released the EP “Nearly New” in 2014 and followed it up with “All The Time In The World” in 2015 and “Here and Now” in 2020. Pat and longtime collaborator Jean-Jacques Schoch co-produced his new album, “Just Like An Old Love Song.” Seven-time Grammy winner Jim Scott (Tom Petty, Sting, Santana, Dixie Chicks, Tedeschi Trucks Band) co-produced two tracks and mixed the album at PLYRZ Studios in Valencia CA. “Just Like An Old Love Song” is set for release Oct 25.
