JP McDermott
Orange County
J.P. McDermott was born in Washington DC and has been singing ever since -- everything from church choirs to musical comedy, but he feels most at home behind a microphone with a Telecaster at the ready. J.P. was named the Country Vocalist of the Year several times by the Washington Area Music Association, and has sung the National Anthem a capella major League Baseball games in front of tens of thousands of people.
With a deep and abiding love for the music of Buddy Holly, J.P. has hosted a popular annual celebration of Buddy's life and music for many years, and has delivered lectures about the topic at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC, and performed at the Buddy Holly Center in Lubbock TX on what would have been Buddy's 75th birthday.
All of J.P. albums are available on the Shower-Tone Records label including his most recent release "Lucky Stars".
