J.P. McDermott is an award-winning singer and a native of Washington DC.  He’s been singing most of his life -- everything from madrigals to musical comedy to skinny-tie New Wave back in the day.  Says J.P. “I feel most at home behind the microphone singing some early rock and roll or crooning a Roy Orbison ballad”.  J.P. was named the Country Vocalist of the Year several times by the Washington Area Music Association.

With a a deep and abiding love for the music of Buddy Holly,  J.P. has been a guest speaker at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC, and performed at the Buddy Holly Center in Lubbock TX on what would have been Buddy's 75th birthday.  His video deep-dives into Buddy’s music have been viewed more than 500,000 times on YouTube.
