Macat Persico Band
Los Angeles, CA
Sandra Macat is an L.A. based singer songwriter that has deep roots from Vienna Austria and from the Mississippi Delta. Her musical influences reflect this geographical diversity, from Dolly Parton and Gillian Welch to Lone Justice lead singer Maria McKee , Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt.
Sandra began her career in Feature Films (Home Alone., Etc.) but has since moved on to her true passion for music. Sandra began this journey in 2013 as she fronted her first country/blues band, eventually forming the “Sandra Macat Band” in 2015. She released her first album in 2018, with “The Sandra Macat Band” called “Miles Away”, recorded in Texas with Loggins and Messina, Merel Bregante as producer. She has performed all over Los Angeles and has opened for classic bands such as Pure Prairie League, The Guess Who and Ambrosia.
Her latest iteration has been to form the “Macat Persico Band” with guitarist and songwriter Scott Persico.
Scott started his musical career as a young kid simply whistling while walking behind his father while he drove a tractor all day which led to his picking up Violin in grade school. Shortly thereafter, his family relocated from Buffalo NY to Sao Paulo Brazil, where he traded in his violin for a guitar, and started to play Bluegrass guitar behind some of his teachers in high school and as a result became an active part of the sudden and fast-growing Bluegrass and Americana music scene in Brazil.
Scott attended Musicians Institute in Hollywood CA in ‘83' and has been playing in multiple bands in SoCal ever since.
Major influences are everyone and anyone from Glen Campbell, Tony Rice to David Gilmore, John McLaughlin, Chas Smith....and David Grissom…
Together Sandra and Scotty have written their new album which they plan to release in 2025.
Many of their songs seem to have a mystical cowboy sound which comes from Scotts eloquent and masterful guitar and Sandra’s powerful voice. Their songs range from heartfelt ballads to high energy, with a Cajun and zydeco flair and sensual drop D Americana. Whether they perform as a duo, or with David Dieckmann on bass and John Palmer (From the Monkeys fame) on drums, this band is Sandra and Scotty at their best.
